What SharpAPI Is
SharpAPI is a sports odds API. An API is a way for your code to ask a service for data. You send a request with your key, and odds come back in one clean format.
It covers many sportsbooks (betting sites) and puts their prices side by side. It also has ready-made tools for +EV (a bet that pays more than it should) and arbitrage (betting both sides at different books to lock in a small profit). It adds fair odds with the vig (the book's cut) removed. You can learn the idea with our no-vig calculator.
SharpAPI is a data service. It does not take bets.
Who SharpAPI Is For
SharpAPI fits hobby coders who want to build their own odds screen or alert bot. It also fits bettors who like spreadsheets and want odds to flow in on their own. It lists Python and TypeScript kits, so you do not start from zero.
It also suits small teams. Some want a clean feed. Others want arbitrage and +EV lists without building the math.
It is probably not for you if you do not write code. It is also a weak fit if you only want to look at a screen. A normal odds site is easier.
How It Works
You can try it with a free account. No card is needed for that plan.
- Sign up and get an API key.
- Ask for odds with REST (your code asks for data each time).
- For paid plans, you can also use SSE (a live stream that sends changes to you).
- Streaming over WebSocket is also offered. It is an add-on that costs extra.
What comes back is odds from many books in one shape. You can also get fair odds, arbitrage lists and, on higher plans, +EV and middles. It also lists Polymarket and Kalshi, which are prediction markets. It has closing odds by date, too.
The docs also mention live game state, like scores and the clock. That is a separate add-on.
What to Weigh Before You Pay
The plans differ in how often you can ask, how many books you get, and how fresh the data is. Check the table above for prices and limits.
- The free plan is for testing. It holds data back by a delay and covers pre-match games only. It rules out live in-play use.
- Fast data costs more. Paid plans say they send real-time data. That is the vendor's claim.
- Features sit on higher plans. Arbitrage starts on a lower paid plan. +EV and middles need a higher one.
- Streaming and live game state cost extra. These are add-ons, not part of the plan.
- History is limited. Past odds are for the custom top tier only.
- A paid trial needs a card. You get one trial per customer.
- You cannot resell the data. The terms forbid passing raw data on to others.
- Payments are not refunded. You can cancel any time and keep access to the end of the billing period.
If you plan to bet on what the tool finds, remember that books may limit accounts that win by arbitrage or +EV. Try our arbitrage calculator first to see if the gaps are worth it.
Bottom Line
SharpAPI is a good fit if you code and want odds plus ready-made +EV and arbitrage data in one place. Start on the free plan to learn the format. Expect to move up if you need real-time odds, more books, or streaming.
