What TheRundown Is
TheRundown is a sports odds API. An API is a way for your code to ask a service for data. It sends odds, scores, stats and play-by-play from many sportsbooks (betting sites). It also has screening tools that find arbitrage, +EV bets and middles.
Arbitrage means betting both sides at different books to lock in a small profit. +EV means a bet that pays more than it should. A middle is a bet pair where both sides can win. The tools show the stake math too.
Who TheRundown Is For
TheRundown has plans for many kinds of users. A hobby coder can start free. A bettor with a personal model can use a low plan. Apps that show odds to other people need a higher plan, since the lower plans are for internal or personal use only.
It is not for you if you want to show data publicly without paying for the right plan. It is also not for you if you need a live stream on a small budget.
How It Works
- Sign up. It is self-serve. The free plan needs no card.
- Get a key. A key is a private code that proves who you are.
- Ask for data. REST means your code asks for data each time. Odds, props, scores and past prices come back.
- Stream, on top plans. A WebSocket is a live stream that sends changes to you. It needs the Ultra plan or above.
- Build faster. The docs offer a spec file. Tools can use it to write client code for you.
The docs also list props, alternate lines and combo markets, plus opening and closing lines.
What to Weigh Before You Pay
Free plan gaps. The free plan has no player props, no alternate markets, no live odds and no history. Its data is also delayed. It shows only a few books.
Delay by plan. Lower plans get data late. Faster data costs more. The homepage says it is fast across all books. That is its claim.
Use rules. Free and Starter are for internal use. Showing odds to your own users needs a higher plan, with a credit line.
Plan ladder. There are many plans, and each step adds more data, faster speed and longer history. Pick the lowest step that covers your use, then move up when you outgrow it.
Hard caps. Plans stop at their limits unless you turn on extra use.
Missing terms. We could not read the terms page. Refunds, the operator and age rules are unconfirmed.
See the table above for plans and prices.
Bottom Line
TheRundown fits builders who want props, history and screening tools in one place. Start free to learn the data. Plan to move up when you need speed, a live stream or public use.
